Lynn Reardon

Lynn Reardon

Lynn went from being a riding novice and office worker to training horses, teaching horsemanship and running a racehorse charity full of big personality OTTBs. She attributes her successful (if slightly chaotic) career change to the many horses who mentored her along the way.

Lynn focuses on helping people become aware of the small things that make the biggest difference to horses. Her reality-based approach to horsemanship is practical, direct and full of humor (because if you can’t laugh at yourself, you’ll never reach any of the best goals anyway). Her speciality is helping amateurs find confidence and partnership with their horses.

She is the best-selling author of Beyond the Homestretch: What Saving Racehorses Taught Me About Starting Over, Facing Fear and Finding My Inner Cowgirl. Her work with the horses has been featured in The New York TimesThe Today ShowOprah MagazineAustin American-Statesman and the Dallas Morning-News (among others).

Lynn is the founder of LOPE (“LoneStar Outreach to Place Ex-Racers”), a nonprofit racehorse charity near Austin, TX.  She also is the head coach and podcast host for HorseWise®, an online horsemanship coaching service. Prior to LOPE and HorseWise®, Lynn worked in nonprofit management in Washington, DC area for too many years.
